We have received comments on our “Tell us about your country” page

Men and women from our region are writing us, and we wish to share with you some of their comments as well as to keep inviting you to send us your notes, through which you record and tell us about what is happening in your communities. Please remember this is the only way of knowing what truly goes on inside the places we live.

JC from Ecuador tells us he does not agree with HIV testing costs. While women’s tests are free, men who go to the Red Cross or public health centers have to pay $6 or $7.

“This should not be part of the HIV and AIDS program. Tests should be for anyone from the general population who wishes to be tested, as should pre- and post counseling. I think that is one of the reasons the HIV/AIDS epidemic is on the rise, without the SLIGHTEST control for lowering it.”

Marcela Romero from Argentina tells us “We need CCM’s to respect recommendations coming from the Global Fund for inviting and including trans community representatives in its makeup.”
